  3. Learn a new tense: The Past Continuous Tense

  4. Master the following prep. :

    about（关于）, by（在……旁边）, with（带着，拿着）, past（超过）, in（在……里面）, on（在……上面）

   How to use the past continuous tense.

III. Teaching steps:

   Step1  Revise “the present continuous tense” and lead-in “the past continuous tense”.

   Step2  Practise using “the past continuous tense”.

   Step3 Put on a short film.

  Step4  Learn some words and expressions.

   Step5 Act. 4: Match the words with the expressions in Act.4.

   Step6  Introduce the characters in the story.

   Step7  Act. 1: Listen and number the characters.

   Step8  Act. 2&3

1. Let the students understand the dialogue with the pictures.
2. Let the students read after the tape.
3. Complete the table in Act. 3, and then check.
4. Ask and answer.
