Hello, everyone! Nice to meet you here.I’m Ye xiaolan, an English teacher from Chongren NO.1 Middle School. Today I`m glad to have a chance to introduce my lesson to you. Now I will say sectionA from1a to1c of Unit4 in Book Three of Go for it.To make my lesson clearly , I`ll say it from the following five parts

Part One: The teaching material analysis PartTwo: Analysis of the teaching methods. Part Three: The learning methods. Part Four:The teaching procedures. Part Five: Blackboard Design.

Now let me show you step by step. Let`s come to Part One Analysis of the teaching materials and students.

First , let me talk about the Status and Function. This is an important lesson in this unit even in this book.This lesson is the first one of this Unit4. So if the students learn it well, it will be useful to learn the rest of this Unit. In this lesson, the Ss learn the ways of transportation, such a topic is related to their daily life. So it can raise the students’ learning interests and improve their spoken English.

Then I will say the learners----Students. My students are at the age of 13 or 14,so they are full of curiosity and they are eager to show their abilities in class. But they seldom communicate in English after class. Of course by learning for one year they have a good foundation in words and sentences. They have mastered some skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing . They have taken a good interest in English.

Therefore, on studying the teaching materials and analyzing the regulation of children`s growing of mind, I put forward three teaching aims according to English teaching Syllabus and New Lesson Standard. The first one: aims on the knowledge.Ss will learn the new words “take, subway, train,” and know how to use the sentences “How do you get to school? How does he get to school?” and know to answer.

The second one: aims on the abilities. Develop the students’ abilities of listening ,speaking, reading and writing.Train the students’ ability of working in pairs.Develop the students’ ability of communication by learning the useful structures.

The third one: aims on the emotion. Ss will be able to work with others and help each other. Ss can obey the traffic rules and be a civilized citizen.

Next I think the key points of this lesson are to make the students master the new words, expressions and how-special question and help the students to communicate with each other.

I think the most difficult points of this lesson are how to distinguish the usage of “take” and “by” correctly and how help SS communicate with each other.

Well, how to achieve the teaching objects better,to stress the points and break through the difficult points? The key is how to make use of the proper teaching methods. Now , let`s look at part two the teaching methods. As we all know, the main aims of learning English in Middle school is to cultivate the students’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing. In this lesson, I’ll mainly use the “task-based” teaching method, and it will be used in the whole lesson. I think it’s helpful to develop the Ss’ thought. I’ll also use “communicative” teaching method and “Audio-visual” teaching method. It can provide enough listening and speaking situations for Ss. That is to say, I will let my students

learn and finsh tasks in a real situation. So my students can get the better understanding of the key structures of the dialogue. During the whole lesson, my students will be real learners, I am just a director. At the same time, in or oder to make my lesson lively ,easily and intresting , I` ll make full use of a tape recoder, some pictures and multi-media computer.I think gooding teaching methods are the keys to succuss.Of course, learning methods are also important. Now, let`s look at Part three :learning methods

I think as an English teacher your duty is not only to teach the Ss some English knowledge but also to foster their skills of learning and using English. In this lesson, the Ss will learn how to be a good language learner and how to communicate with others. It will be very helpful for their learning in the future. I think good studying ways can help the Ss to be good language learners According to the above analysis,I divide the teaching process into six steps.Ok let`s come to the key step. Part 4: the teaching procedures.

Step1 watch a vedio“ the ways of transportation”(2 minutes)(In the first step, I`ll play a vedio. It will take about 2 munites. My designing purpose is to attract the students’ attention and create a relaxed studying environment.

Step 2 Presentation(18minutes)(The second step is presentatio.,This course is very important..I`ll mainly talk about it. It will use about 18 muntes.This step includes four parts. Now I`ll show them to you step by step.

1.Review and learn the words and expressions by using multimedia and then ask the students “How do you get to school?” Help the students to get the answers in two different ways.(5`)

2.Play a gussing listening game.Consolidate the words and phrases about the transportation above by playing a guessing listening game . And tell the students to memorize them as many as they can.See which group do best.. (3`)

3. Drill the dialguage with the teacher.If necessar, I`ll give them help.Show some famous people picture.Let the Ss guess howhe/she goes/gets to work? And ask them in two different ways.I’ll ask the students about the focus stars such as Zhou Bichang ,Yao Ming, LiuXiang, Zhou Jielun and more. They are popular among the students in China,The students must be interested in them.(8`) 4. Ask the students to complete 1a, then check the answer with them(2`)

Purpose of my designing: To present the ways of transportation by CAI is more easier for the students to learn and grasp the meanings. CAI can provide a real situation with its picture and it makes the relationships between students better.

Step3 Listening. (5 munites)( The third step is the listening part. The purpose ) Listen and match the items in 1b, then listen and repeat.

Before I play 1b.I ask the students: how do you get to school? I want them to remember the ways of transportation. And I play 1b, let the students to complete 1b, the check the answer. And then let the students listen and imitate the dialogue

Purpose of my designing: let the Ss catch keywords while listening to the tape. It can train students to take notes while listening.

Step4.Pairwork( About 6 minutes)

Ask two students read the conversation, then let the students practice in pairs. After that, ask them to practice in groups like this:

Encourage them to use different words and find out the best group. In this step, the students are required to practice the sample in pairs by reading the dialogue aloud. This step is employed to make the students grasp the sample. At last I’ll ask the students to thing hard and act it out well. I’ll give them some cards with numbers as a prize.

Purpose of my designing: This step is employed to make the students get the general idea of the dialogue as a whole one. At the same time, let the students have a chance to practice their listening and spoken ability. “Task-based” teaching method is used here to develop the students’ ability of communication and also their ability of cooperation. I think proper competition can arouse the students’ interest in English learning if the students can finish the task well, they will benefit a lot in their spoken English.

Step5 Make a survey and give a report.(About 5 minutes) Name Bob How to get to school By bus Let the students make conversations like this:( In the fifth step, Ss will finish this form and then A: Hello! Can I ask you some questions? Give us a report. At last choose the best one and the B: OK! best Group. Purpose is…) A: How do you get to school? B: I take the bus to school. A: How does he get to school? B: He goes to school by bus. A: Thank you very much. B: You are welcome.

Then the students give us reports like this: Bob takes the bus to school and Yang Lan rides her bike to school. But I get to school on foot.

Purpose of my designing: I think survey is so important that the students should speak as much as they can in class or after class. It is necessary for the students to investigate the others to consolidate the knowledge they learned.

Step6.Exercise(7minures)( In sixth Part I design some exercises) Purpose of my designing:Consolidate what the Ss have learned and find problems , so make the key points clearly in time.

Step7. Sum up(about 1 minute)

In this class we have learned some new words about the transportation. And we can use Take and By correctly to express how to get to places. Step8. Homework.

Let the students make a survey –How do your family members get to school or get to work ? How do your teachers get to work? Then write a report.
