Functional seating furniture, in particular for office use, comprising a frame (1),a seat (2) pivotable about a horizontal frame axis against the force of at least one springand of adjustable inclination, and also a backrest (3) pivotable in dependence on therespective inclination of the seat, characterized in that the front part of the seat (2) issupported, in particular in the side region, in each case against one arm of a two-armedlever (15) pivotably mounted on the frame (1), the other arm of which engages in eachcase with a link (5) which is pivoted in accordance with the seat inclination and whichthereby brings about a lowering of the front edge of the seat on increasing theinclination of the seat.
