摘要：Techniques for deployment of virtual machine disks (VMDKs) in a virtualizedcomputing environment are disclosed. In one embodiment, a request to deploy a VMDKto a virtual machine (VM) is received. The VMDK includes a master virtual disk file and at

least one data virtual disk file. Further, the master virtual disk file is copied from a sharednetwork file system to a storage device associated with a host computing system.Furthermore, a redo virtual disk file is created in the storage device upon copying themaster virtual disk file. Also, changes made to content associated with the VMDK arestored in the redo virtual disk file until the at least one data virtual disk file is copied tothe storage device.
